Privacy notice
This explains what happens to your email address when you register your interest in Tangent on datetangent.com. The Tangent app will have its own privacy policy when it launches.
Who we are
Tangent is run by Tangent Dating Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17498474).
We decide how your information is used, which makes us the controller under UK data protection law. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we keep
When you register your interest, we keep:
- your email address
- the date and time you signed up
- the wording you agreed to: “By signing up, you confirm you’re 18 or over. We’ll only email you about Tangent’s launch.”
That’s all. We don’t keep your IP address, and we don’t use cookies or analytics to track you.
What we use it for
Only to email you about Tangent’s launch in London. We won’t send you anything else, and we’ll never sell your address or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
We do this with your consent, which you give by signing up. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing [email protected], and every email we send will tell you how to unsubscribe.
Who else is involved
A few companies help us run this site. They only use your information on our behalf.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores the waitlist.
- Google Workspace runs our email, so if you write to us, your message is kept there.
This site also loads its fonts from Google Fonts. To send them, Google’s servers receive your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens with most websites you visit.
If we start using another company, for example to send our launch emails, we’ll update this notice first.
Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States and may handle data outside the UK. When they do, it’s protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK’s data bridge with the US or contract terms approved by the Information Commissioner.
How long we keep it
We keep your address until we’ve emailed you to say Tangent is open, and then we delete it. If you ask us to remove it sooner, we will. If Tangent hasn’t opened by the end of 2027, we’ll delete the whole list.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email [email protected] and we’ll reply within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The note in your browser
When you sign up, this site saves a small note in your browser so the page remembers you’re on the list and doesn’t ask again. It doesn’t contain your email address and never leaves your device. You can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Age
Tangent is for adults. Please don’t register if you’re under 18.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we’ll email you before it happens.
